Choosing a driving school is undoubtedly a very important task. We have all heard the stories of unprofessional driving instructors and less than satisfying driving lessons. Previously, I was the owner of the YLOO Drive in Seventeen Mile Rocks. On a daily basis, I heard stories of useless driving lessons where time and money were wasted and confidence was diminished for many learner drivers resulting in them calling us.
It really doesn’t have to be this way!
I am a Driving Standards Agency, Grade ‘A’, approved driving instructor. This means that the Driving Standards Agency has graded my instructional ability to be of a high standard. Only 10% of all driving instructors achieve an ‘A’ Grade. In contrast, many driving instructors teaching today are ‘Trainee Instructors’. This means that they have not been assessed or graded by the DVSA.
Teaching grades are an important indicator of how quickly you will learn to drive. However, character and attitude are equally important.
Your success is my main priority. I want you to have a good experience when learning to drive. You should end your driving lesson feeling satisfied and happy that you have achieved something. My lessons will never involve ‘aimless, driving around’. Every lesson will have a specific and clear objective. Together, we will achieve your objective and move you closer to becoming a safe driver and passing the driving test.
Often, a point of frustration for learner drivers is the driving manoeuvers. Many driving instructors teach these manoeuvers in very convoluted, hard to replicate ways, using bits of tape and markers in windows that need to be lined up. It is very rare that a learner driver will be completely happy with these methods as they are far from easy. Again I assure you that it does not have to be this way. My methods for learning the manoeuvers are simplified and easy to both understand and remember.
I could talk for a long time regarding deficiencies in many driving instructors teaching methods but alas, talk is cheap. If you want to learn to drive in an efficient, safe, and satisfied manner I urge you to contact me today to arrange an initial, trial lesson.
Please note that I am often teaching throughout the day and can’t always answer the telephone. A text message with your name and postcode is appreciated and I will return your call after my lesson.
